Student house SO23
The vision

The vision

Social and academic affiliation is important for the students' well-being and mastery, and is based on a recognition that the study time is more than what takes place in lectures and at the individual educational institution. Physical meeting places that facilitate social relations, networking and cohesion are probably more important than ever in a society that is becoming increasingly digitized.

The aim is to build on, supplement and create good synergies with today's already existing offer. We see that the need for social meeting arenas is far greater than what already exists, in addition to the need to cover new functions.

A new student house in the center of Oslo will help bring together student Oslo and contribute to realizing Oslo as a capital of knowledge. The project will contribute to coping with student life, building social networks and personal development. Based on volunteering and commitment, activity and belonging will be created for the city's students. The investments made now will benefit many young people for many generations to come.

In collaboration with SiO, the vision is that the students operate and use the student house with SiO as farm owner and partner. This will be a house for all students in Oslo, regardless of institutional affiliation, but it will also be an arena for coming into contact with the students. The reason why student involvement is so central to the project is because the foundations of the student house must be built on the principles and needs of the students and volunteering. Therefore, the students who get involved in the project work a lot to reach out to the students and start an association that will eventually take over the building when it is ready
