Student house SO23
Today's situation

Today's situation

The student house project consists of a steering group, a project manager, the student association Studentrum and various key individuals from SiO and VT. The steering group is the highest body in the student house project and consists of a representative from Studentrum, students from both The Welfare Council and the student body in general, representatives from the Executive Board, as well as selected key people from the management of SiO and other key players. We will be working on this in 2023:

  • Student involvement: The student association Studentrum was founded to run the student house when it opens. Today, they are working to develop the services that will be offered in the student house and to involve the Students of Oslo in the project. This work is open to all committed students to join in.
  • Financing: We are now working to secure funding for the refurbishment through grants and capital contributions from partners who want to help make Oslo even more attractive to students. Studentrum has set up a funding group to secure external funding for the construction.
  • Future operations: We are collecting information from other student houses about different models for operating the student house and looking at how operations should be structured. This work will take place in parallel with the construction of the student house. Work has also begun to look at financing the operation of the building in the long term when the student house is ready and will open.
